XP compatability problem with childrens game for windows 98

I just finished building a new PC for my children. After getting it up and running(XP for an OS) I tried installing some of thier games. Most installed and worked great but a couple are not displaying correctly, part of the screen is blacked out vertically on the right side of the screen. Is there a patch for this? I tried setting the monitor display at every setting with no success. Also tried to right click and go inot properties then setting the compatability wizard to windows 98 with no change.

Right click on the shortcut to the program and click "Properties". Go to the "Compatibility" tab and tick the box that says "Run this program in compatability mode for". In the drop down menu, select "Windows 98". Hit apply and ok.

That should do the trick.
