XP Recovery

Hi all,
A week ago my OS (WinXP) got infected by some trojans. Norton Antivirus 2003 was not detecting them, so I installed AVG antivirus. AVG detected those trojans and cleaned them....AVG really wored for me..!!
But I think my OS is still in currupted condition. I can't even open wordpad files. Even my Opera web browser is not behaving properly. Also uninstall option for Opera in add remove programs isn't there, so I can't really uninstall Opera and some other programs also.
I don't want to again format my hard drive, instead I want to just repair Windows XP. Please give me info about how to use repair console of XP. If possible give me some links..!

Hi Parimal

Did you turn off system restore before you cleaned the PC? you lose all restore points but it ensures any viruses in your restore points don't continue to cause problems. I normally turn it off, clean the PC at least twice, once happy turn system restore back on.
