XP Pro verses XP Home
I am thinking of getting a new computer. It be can ordered with XP Home or XP Pro. Since the computer is meant for home use, does anyone know of any advantages to getting Pro? I don't network here at home. Occasionally I will use PC-Linq to backup some files, but don't usually have the computers networked. Any comments would be appreciated.

Unless you actually have a use for the extra features in XP pro get the Home edition.

The main advantages with XP Pro are networking features and dual CPU support.
I'd suggest to go with XP Home, since it doesn't look like you will be needing the "extras" in XP Pro.

Thanks
Thanks for the answers. I wasn't sure if there were other advantages to Pro that I wasn't aware of. As I don't bother to network, and I'm not planing on getting a multiple CPU supported computer, think I'll just stick with Home.
Thanks again guys.

Excellent article
Excellent article for what I wanted to know. I tried to dig through the Microsoft site, but it just confused the hell out of me. Not that, that is hard to do. But, the article answered all of my questions. And pretty much confirmed what pam123 and Force Flow said. There are of course other things but pam123 and Force Flow mentioned probably are the two main features. Security is enhanced in Pro, but sounds like it would be more trouble for me than it would be worth.
Thanks again everyone.
