How to Enlarge Icon Collection

When i right-click on a folder and then Properties-Customize-Folder icons-Change Icon-Look for icons in this file, it shows icons that exist in System 32 file.

Q1. How can i enrich this icon collection? Where from?

Q2. Is it possible to change/make a picture in My Pictures folder into an icon? What is the difference between icons and pictures?

Thanks.

A1. Click the browse button and point it to your collection
A2. Can use just about any picture/icon

A question a bit irrelevant to this thread's concept:

Suppose i am on the internet and have opened several pages; at some point i would like to view my Desktop;

how can i put an icon on the Quick Launch Taskbar so as by clicking it to view my Desktop?
(So as not having to close or minimize any webpages in order to see my Desktop.)

Thank you.

Can't remember off hand how to put the icon there, but you can show your desktop at least two easy ways:

hit the Windows Key + "D" key combo ( without the quotes)
or right click on the Start bar and click on Show Desktop.

The Show Desktop button (link: Explanation of the show desktop button and how to recreate it is here: http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;262088) will mimimize your webpages in order to show the desktop. The only possible alternative I can think of to show the desktop without minimizing any webpages or content is by doing START > RUN > desktop
