Does anyone use window's 2000 much anymore? Would it be foolish to install window's 200 on my new build? All I will use this system for is gaming, email, and surfin.
My current computer is on XP home. I don't much difference..... Your comments are appreciated. deck99 |

if youre going to buy a new os, why not get xp?
all i ever hear about 2000 is "it's stable", but from what i understand, it's more of a business platform...i dont really know, though. i would think that because its an older business os, that microsoft will be putting more of its efforts into XP Pro, its newer business system? and i have no idea which of the two is more stable... all i can say for sure is I have xp pro, and it is pretty stable, i use my computer for gaming mostly, so i know it works for me... keep checking around net and read lots of reviews so you can make an informed decision! cheapest i could find: XP: http://www.nextag.com/Microsoft_WIND...83zzmainz2-htm 2000: http://www.nextag.com/serv/main/buye...0183&lgsearch= |

Go with XP. Win2K is used mostly for businesses and highly networked systems. That's what people mean when they say "stability" when talking about Win2K. Network stability.

With my multiboot setup, I've comparted the gaming capabilites of 2000 and XP. XP blows 2000 way out of the water. You would be surprised at the difference.
