Run-time error '5'

I have just come to run a newly installed program and am getting the message:-

"Run-time error '5'; Invalid procedure call or argument" when I attempt to run it.

I am using XP Home. Any advice please?

well, i guess it would help to know what this newly installed program is so that we can get more accurate results. but otherwise, google has been known to give pretty good answers if you type the error message in

Hi Craig

There's not much more info to give. It's an Anquet mapping demo disk, version 1.2. , and I've tried every which way to get it running. Everything else on my m/c seems to be ok.

i guess you're right, not a whole lot of info. i went to the website, but you have to enter all of your info to be able to get support. how old is the software? have you ever had it working in XP before? if no, what OS was it working in.

Hi again Craig

It is a brand new disk. I also tried the download from their site, and had exactly the same problem. I think it is a problem at my end rather than one with the software - they haven't come across this before and seem baffled!
