Reformatting Problem
Hello,
I just reformatted my brother Compaq PC. But he couldnt find his Windows CD so i used mine, which is alot newer then his. We both have WinXP Pro, so i figured it be alright. But heres the problem, now everything he starts or restarts his PC it comes up with the option to select the operating system between the following two: ** Microsoft Windows XP Professional ** Microsoft Windows XP Professional Edition When you select the bottom one it comes up with the error that the hardware configuration is messed up, and then it restarts. But when i select the top one it works fine. Is there a way to skip this thing and always load the top one? I know there is on my PC but i built it with newer parts, so i was going through his BIOS and i couldnt find any options about loading multiple operating systems. Any information would be helpful Thanks for your time. H3lls |

Control Panel->System Icon->Advanced tab->Startup settings. See attached pic.
You can edit the time from 30 to 1 second or edit the boot.ini file. |
