friend's outlook express doing something wierd

Hi

a while ago i did a reinstall of win2k on a friend's comupter.

i just got a message from her saying that she has a serious problem with outlook express

sometimes when they open outlook and change identity there is an error message ( " something about min msn" )
and outlook express crashes.
off course it did not do this just now when i called her

does annyone have anny idea what could be causing this, and more importantly how i can fix this????

thx

( " something about min msn" )

Get all the "detailed" info for something. You can then search the MS knowledgebase.

My guess is she is useing or Has installed MSN? I had an issue once where the OE would only work with the MSN account any others would lock it up.
I deleted the MSN stuff then had the user check that mail online only.

If the error is MSIMN, that's OE itself.

I've had issues with OE and XP when you switch identities - the workaround I had to use is if you want to switch identities, you log off the current identity and close OE - then reopen it and choose the new identity. You have to uncheck "use this identity when starting the program" in the identity manager to be able to do this.

thanks glc

i've told her to do a regclean and she as not seen the error since but that might just be coincidence. if it persists i'll tell her to use your workaround

thanks
