CPU Usage Problem
The CPU usage of one of my computers has been steady at 100% from the minute I turn on the computer until the minute I turn it off. The culprit is a tcp/ip process that is always taking up anywhere from 80 to 99 percent of the cpu. Although it is a a system process that is part of windows and useful for tcp/ip networking and all, it is a pain for the computer to be spending all its energy on that instead of programs I need to use. It makes it so increadibly slow. The problem didn't start happening untill recently, I use a separate wireless card (Linksys Wireless-G Notebook Card) to connect to the internet, so is it okay to just completly uninstall this process, and if so, how. It would be better if I didn't because occasionally I do connect directly to the router with an ethernet cable and the process might be essential. Is there a way to fix it? Thanks. I'll be looking on Google for help in the mean time.
