HI folks,
This is probably old hat, Got XP - when you uninstall a program thru Control Panel >Add & Remove how do you get rid of the program name from the Add & Remove program list after the program has been uninstalled. Will the Tweak UI for 98 remove the titles? Thanks Thomsign |

Open regedit and go to :
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall Remove the key corresponding to the Display Name on your Add/Remove applet. For example if your add/remove applet shows the program name as "Gone with the Windows" You should go inside the go inside the keys within the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall tree looking for a string value of DisplayName = "Gone with the Windows" A simple way of accomplishing that is to open regedit and do a Find for the exact name of the program as shown in the add/remove applet. Keep searching for entries till you come upon one that is in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall tree. Delete the corresponding key (not just display name .. but the entire key) .. kinda like remove the entire folder not just the file called display name. |
