Messaging in XP.
At school, this person is sending random messages (similar to these), and I couldn't figure out how to send them. Then I found out how to do it was to CTRL + ALT + DELETE and click on user, select a user, and click send message, which brings up this form.
The problem is I found this at home, and the School Administeration has maximum security measures on their computers, so the Task Manager is disabled. However there is another way of sending messages... but what is it? ![]()

it would have been done with the net send command in dos. this happend in our school this week, someone sent one whole-network wide saying the 'devil makes work for idle thumbs', they got excluded anyway, idiots. somehow i doubt that you have access to command prompt on the school network so im presuming that they got access to it via unlawful pourposes, which is mostly the case.

Is it possible to send these messages over a network? If so, how?

if you have access to command prompt you use this command:
net send username message basically just in that format. but if you dont have access to it or your school lays down rules for what you can do on the network, i would expect a punishment. but i dont know how serious they take it over the water. Last edited by MulderMan; 09-18-2004 at 07:57 AM. |

to shutdown your own computer use :
shutdown -s to shutdown a computer on a network remotely use: shutdown -m \\computername for that you have to have the name of that computer, not the login for it to work. |

I don't think this is appropriate - discussing how to create mischief over a school network. Thread closed, participants warned.
