Liteon burner disappearing, XP SP1
My second computer at home has a liteon 52xRW that keeps "disappearing" from the device manager upon boot. It won't autorun a CD, or no programs (ex. Nero) can "see" the drive, unless I goto add hardware wizard, soon as I click on the add hardware wizard the drive will spin up and the balloon will appear saying "new hardware installed" in the tray. I've tried uninstalling the optical drive (once I can get it to show up) and tried uninstalling the IDE controllers as well. Upon reboot, prim, sec, and HDD's are "detected" the CDRW is hit and miss, one time it detected it, the other time I had to go to hardware wizard. After shutdown or reboot, gone again? Anyone got any ideas? hardware problem? I've checked cables, plugs, reinstalled drivers. . .
Computer is a p4 2.8C, 2x256MB crucial, biostar mobo (via chipset - hoping that's not the problem )

Heard of this before with Liteon burners. Check the Liteon support site for newer firmware and see if that corrects the problem.
