windows halts before login screen...
my friends computer which running xp pro will boot then comes up with the safemode etc. prompt (have tried them all) and once it boots the desktop is black and there is a cursor and i can control it...but i cant do anything else i have tried ctrl+alt+delete, ctrl+shift+esc, and alt+f4 none of them do anything...i have let the computer sit for over 30 min and it still does nothing...i have tried my ram in her computer with no prevail...thinkin its a virus in the boot sector...but really dont want to format if i dont have to...any ideas?
