Computer froze and now windows won't load
Here's the specs:
Processor:Celeron 1.7 GHz HD: Western Digital 7200 Mobo: MSI MS-6524 Soundcard: Onboard Graphics card: Geforce 4 Ti 4200 OS: Windows 2000 Here's the problem: Playing counterstrike, everthing freezes. Won't respond to Ctrl+Alt+Delete. I power off. I power on, white windows bar loads, then screen goes crazy (multicolored zigzag lines) for a minute, then goes black and stay black. I checked the temps in BIOS and it's 120*F, nothing to be worried about right? Any help is greatly appreciated. Last edited by KlumpDud; 09-22-2004 at 12:32 AM. |

your temps are fine. Maybe its a hard drive failure. Try going to western digitals site to get a diognostic tool, other then that it might be bad ram but if it always does it at the same time then I doubt it.

Situation Update:
After leaving comp off for about 5 min, I turned it on and it booted to windows desktop. I tried playing counterstrike again, and about 1 minute into the game, it freezes again. I power off again, wait another 5 min, boot up to windows desktop. I try to open up windows explorer, comp freezes. I tried reseting the CMOS, problem persists. Any suggestions? Thanks for your help. |
