Problem:I have had to fresh install Windows XP (not replacing the vendors Pre-installed version..so that I have a choice of 2 environments to enter). The pre-installed version does not work with a file missing of corrupt:
System32\DRIVERS\nvATAbus.sys. I have had to download same Bios version & above driver onto floppy on another pc, then reboot the problem PC(Cubex, small form factor) , installing windows xp pro & media edition from the vendors recovery CD. I had very luckily burned all Driver folders onto R-DVD beforehand... but now want to ensure that I install and have the same 'spec' as in the pre-install version ???? How should I install the drivers from the DVD - one at a time ?? - which one first..etc ???? Also can I now still 'repair' the pre-installed version as well, so that I have a choice of 2 versions of XP to enter when system first boots up..i.e keep both the pre-installed & fresh install ? operating system:XP media center edition, xp pro v 5.1.2600 processor: AMD Athlon 64 3000 Hard Drive: Serial ATA (150m/b) Video card: - nVidia geforce fx5900xt - tv out FN8JS225 Nvidia Nforce3 Bios: SiI 3512A sataraid v.43.43 |
