win 98 on an xp machine?
working on a HP pavaillion 700 2.53ghz intel and the people i'm working on it for put in some old recovery disk for a old hp they had that have 98 on them....now in the startup under msconfig 2 98 .exe files are in there and this thing is slow as a snail.anyone know of a way to get it out of there (the 98 part) without do a clean install of xp?.....thanks

Try doing a recovery from a bootable XP CD.

i got it straightin' out went in and removed all manually
