Not in the slightest. I think your copy of XP didn't bring enough coffee and sandwiches and starved to death.
Give us some more information about your machine, is this a new build or an upgrade?

Did you partition the hard drive when you were installing XP last night?

Yes...it had one partition on the C: and asked if I would like to create another or over write the current or select a different drive so I tried to creat another but no luck so I wrote over the existing and it said I will have to convert it to NTFS

Boot from the CD, let windows format & partition the hard drive. With only 2.2 gigs you may just want to have one partition because XP is a hog. Don't install over ME because this usually creates problems. Do a clean install. you want the NTFS file system also.

Before you do the install, XP has a compatability wizard, considering the problems you have had so far I think running the compatability wizard would be a good idea. Is that your thread as well? the one about USB problems. If it is I strongly recomend the compatabilty wizard before you go any further.

A 2.2 gb hard drive is not big enough to install XP on, especially if it's not empty. How much ram do you have? If you don't have at least 256 mb, upgrading to XP is not really advised.

Yes, I know what the official minimum system requirements are, but at minimums the machine will run like molasses in January even with a 1.3 GHz processor.

As already said, don't try to upgrade from ME - wipe it and install clean. The upgrade CD can be used as a clean install as long as you have the ME CD to put in the drive when it does the compliance check.
