Windows XP display effect for tft screen

Morning

Just a quick question. I reinstalled windows on my machine. I have a tft screen and the display is not as sharp as it was. I remember on my previous install I turned off some display effect that sharpened the txt on the screen.

Does anyone know where I find that?

Thanks
Haggis

Hi,

rightclick on the desktop, select properties. Go to the appearance tab, and then click on the effects button (on the lower right).
There you can disable ClearType, or disable font smoothing completely. Thereafter the picture will be sharp again.

Apart from that, check that you are using the native resolution, and if your TFT is hooked up via VGA, use the autotune function.

Have you tried looking in your display properties? You should find the settings there to adjust your display to your desired settings to bring it back to the way it looked before you reinstalled windows.

My Computer - Control Panel - Display - Settings - Advanced
