Ran Installation CD ver 1.34 w/Realtek 8180 wireless lan driver and utility but
when I click on the RLT Short Cut the message popup says "No Wireless Adapter Found" ?
1) Is win98se for laptop different than for a pc?
2) Does anyone know sites w/How togo wireless, card installation, config, driver downloading or updating, wireless isp access?
3) Do I need win98se software update to setup a lan connection or wireless lan.
I hav a pc @ home that I could setup to mimick a hotspot if need be to test and setup this laptop?
I know there is lots of info on networking both in this site and internet but I
have only a 3days hometime and used two already w/ a modem detection prob. w/this laptop that is now resolved. Thnx

If you follow the installation instructions exactly, it should work. I have a Linksys WPC11 which installed perfectly into my laptop when I had 98SE on it. Most wireless PC cards need to have the software installed first before you even THINK about introducing the card to the machine, then shut the machine down. Then things vary - some cards you put in before powering up, others you hotplug once in Windows.

Once you get the card seen, the easiest way to test it is go to a local hotspot and fire it up - you don't have to complete the connection process if it's gonna cost you money. Try Starbucks or a UPS Store.
