Okay I swear I will stop

I swear I will stop making these threads about USB if someone lets me know what I need to do on this. I have XP installed no problem. I have 2 USB controllers and 2 USB root hubs both Intel, but I was looking on this computer I am on now (different one than I am referring to) which I had tried my NEC phone and USB on and it has USB root hub 2.0 on it in the system area of control panel. Do I need this to be on my other computer? Is it the reason it is not recognizing my phone connected to the USB? I have the drivers installed as NEC instructed and from their site but nothing no matter which USB port I plug into, front or back. I have checked my BIOS and it shows USB enabled. I have tried all that I can think of and somethings suggested but nothing. Should I call the GEEKSquad people from Circuit City I think it is?

You know, the motherboard has drivers that you have to install, USB 2.0, and not once have you mentioned them.
So, the XP install, the NEC drivers, what happened to the motherboard's USB drivers ?
In fact, have you installed any motherboard drivers ?

I'm just returning an USB 2.0 card that I bought on Ebay. The problem seems to be the same as yours (if I can deduce correctly from your posts in this thread), namely that a device cannot be detected. First question, does it recognize any other USB devices ? The card I bought gave me an "unknown Device" error every single time, in four different pc's and with all drivers I could locate, testing with a usb 2.0 key, a usb 1.1 mouse and modem, all working on other pc's/usb cards. I think my card is simply broken, if no other usb devices will work on your usb ports, it might be the same problem.

Please post your specs.
If you're using the motherboard's connectors you may have a problem with them.
Check your bios to be sure USB is enabled.

USB enabled in BIOS...Tried all four ports on 2 cards front and back...it has recognized my device before but is not now. Stock cards that came with it.

Something gets rma'ed, the fault isn't yours.
Give us your specs so we have a decent shot at telling you what to do ( Okay, you're not a comp enthusiast, but the lack of info stops anything else cold ), and who to e-mail.

Is this an OEM set up ?
We're talking Dell, Gateway and so on, or a homebuilt?
Post what you know and we'll narrow it down.
If it's OEM(Dell, etc. ) post make and model number.
Otherwise post motherboard specs.
Give us something to start from!

Do the inevitable, e-mail Gateway support and ask if USB 2.0 is possible with your set-up.
If there are updates, fine, if not you are sutck with USB 1.1 .
1.1 is slower but will stll work.

Oh yeah 2.0 is no problem; the computer was new after april 2000. Why would that change why it wont detect my connection again after it has before and has connected before to the net before? I seriously am thinking about getting a tech guy over the my place and having him check er out
