Everything was fine, until....

I decided to upgrade from 2000 Pro to XP pro. After the install, I tried to log on to XP, and I got a code validation error. XP would not let me do anything, so I figured, no sweat, Ill just clean the partition, and reinstall 2000 Pro.

Well, my HDD is a SATA, and I have an 80G ATA. My OS and Program files are on seperate partitions on the SATA. My R/RW CD-Rom is primary master, the DVD-Rom is primary slave.

The 2000 CD will not see any drive other than the 80G. So I disconnect it. Now it says I have no HDD. SO, I reconnect the CD and DVD on the secondary channel, like I had when I installed the OS.

No Dice. I cannot get the dang thing to install on my SATA, I cannot even get it to see that its even there.

Can someone please help?

You might need to install 3rd party raid drivers, one of the options when first booting off a windows CD.
Did it work the first time you installed 2000? Have you made any hardware changes since the first time you installed 2000?

You need to download this and make a floppy - as soon as Setup starts, press F6 when prompted to install a 3rd party driver and insert the floppy.
