New Motherboard/Chip/Video - old XP?

I bought an upgrade package from Tiger Direct = new Soyo Dragon Lite motherboard, new Intel Celeron chip, new Video Board. Question?
If I install this new motherboard/video board combo in my existing Windows
XP system - how do I get it all to work again, with current Hard Drive,
files and Windows XP?

What steps are necessary, to get my purchased installed Windows
XP - to work with this new hardware upgrade?

XP will either bootup or it'll choke all over it'sself when it see's the new hardware. (and not bootup)

To increase your odds, use the old video card. If you can bootup and install the new chipset drivers then install the new video card.

1 machine - 1 XP stuff?

I know Microsoft did some funnies with XP - trying to tie their XP WINDOWS
to 1 machine. You'd think they'd cover this hardware-upgrade stuff
some way????? I must have bought Windows XP 3 times now - what
they intended I'm sure. Won't do it again .................

Help ------ Fred

XP works fine.

Placing a used hard drive with an OS on it into a new system is asking a lot.

Oem Xp

I originally bought "OEM XP" and installed/registered it with my current
home-built PC. Now I want to upgrade MB and video card - with same
XP Windows software.

Microsoft doesn't make it easy! And Bill is at the top of the heap too.

Worst case:

XP will need to have a repair reinstall, and you will have to call M$ on the 800# to reactivate it.

The first is not necessarily going to be required, but be prepared. The second will be required if it was last activated less than 120 days ago.
