Question Slipstreaming advice

Hi,
I was going to make a slipstream disk for installing XP with SP2 for a PC that won't take an SP2 install. Now I also have someone else with the same problem. I was wondering if I just made one disk for all and just used their Product ID from their original XP disk if this would work or would I have to make a slipstream disk for each PC with their original XP disK, if that makes sense?
TIA

If the version of Windows is the same (like you have XP Pro, and he also has XP Pro) it should be no problem.
For different versions (like you have XP Pro, he has XP Home) it won't work.

If it's really only one person, I'd do an extra slipstream using his CD. It doesn't take much time and it will work for sure.

Thanks RJ I am going to use her CD for the first one, she has XP Home, I also have another friend that the same thing happened and he has XP home, so when I make her disk what you're saying it should work on his to as long as I use his key code number off his original disk?

Yes, as long as it's not only the same version, but the same *type* (OEM, retail, upgrade) and not a "restore" disk.

Thanks GLC, I guess I'll have to make two as one is retail full install and the other is retail upgrade, but I'll have two I can use on anything else I run in to.
