xp on one drive, software on another

If I put Windows on my master drive and install ALL software like word, games, what not to a slave drive, will it make any difference?

for example: will it add stuff to the windows registery? Im tring to avoid getting any thing into windows that will make it slow down at all.

Cool one drive or the other

Well, have tried that and all you save is space on the C drive. The programs still have to write some stuff to the C drive and registery - like where to find the program and such. Not sure of the exact details. But do know if the C drive fails none of those programs will run, because some of it is on C drive.

Was a good idea I thought so too, but in reality don't save much. Also found some programs just didn't run good like that. They like to be installed on the C drive.

It makes it good from the standpoint of making a ghost backup of your OS.

Anytime you install anything to any drive it will write to the registry. Think about it. The OS has to know where to find it.
