Uknown process taking up CPU

So I've noticed for the past couple days that while I am doing nothing spectacular on my computer, my CPU usage tends to hang around the range of 50 to 70 percent. I have the Task Manager in my corner, just so I can keep an eye on it. When I open the Task Manager to find out what's doing what, the process labled "System Idle Process" is responsible. It's on the very bottom of the list. I've never noticed it before.

So, after running AVG, Adware SE Personal, Spybot S&D, and giving all my folders a quick run through, it's still there. Does anyone know what this does, how to disable it, and if I should diable it? I can't imagine what it'd be using 50% of my CPU for. Any thoughts would help!

Okay, I just found the solution, thanks to Black Viper. Here it is if anyone was wondering, or has had the same problem. It's on the very bottom of the page.

On question still, where did it come from, and why did it show up only recently? Was it maybe part of an update?

i think that's built in and system idle proc actually counts how much pctg of the system you aren't using. i might look at other progs.

The system idle process is part of Windows and does not impact performance in any way. It is not a problem and you don't need to mess with it.
