Shutdown..not MSBLAST.
I recently bought a new Compaq and deleted the paritions to install a clean version of Windows Corp XP. However now it seems like the computer wants to shutdown once on the internet. Actually it gives the same message as a computer with the MSBLAST virus.
I have updated the OS installing the updates from Microsoft to no avail. I have never had this type of problem and a freind advised me to try a program called "Hijack This" to repair problem. Thanks for any help! Richard |

There's a sticky thread in the Security forum concerning HijackThis - read it, do what it says, and then start a new thread in there with your HijackThis log if you need further assistance.
You need to do some scans for malware. |

hey, i think i have the answer for you....i had the same problem. After i connected to the internet it would want to shut down, something about lsass.exe.....anyways to stop the shutdown goto start-run-then type "shutdown -a" without the quotes. To solve this problem i had to reinstall windows and before i hooked it to the internet i had to turn on the windows firewall....because if you go to try and do it now, it won't let you. Anyways i hope this helped.
