Removing networking login in Win98SE?

How do you get rid of that stupid Networking login in Win98SE? The one where you just press Cancel to bypass it. Thanks.

Here's a copy-and-paste of a reply I recently posted for this same question (although at that time, it was for WinMe) -

This article at aumha covers most of the bases: http://www.aumha.org/win4/a/nopwdlog.htm

The method you're thinking of is probably deleting the current password file (*.pwl) and rebooting. [This works if you've already set things to "Windows Logon" in the Control Panel "Network" applet. If you're not sure, check out the aumha article, which also has a link to the MS Knowledge Base article.]

When you reboot the first time after making the "Windows Logon" selection in ControlPanel/Network, deleting the current password file, & you see the networking login, click OK, with the password box left blank. This will keep the box from appearing again.

Best of luck
