Defrag a Mirrored Drive

Hello,

I'm getting conflicting information as to whether or not a mirrored drive can be defragged. Here's the set-up
mirrored drive, dynamic, NTFS,
2 partions
Win2000 Server - 8gb used, 1 gb free
data - 26gb used, 4gb free
defrag analysis shows definite need for defrag

I tried to defrag, it ran, but report still shows same as analysis. I was told by a pretty knowledgeable networking tech that a mirrored drive can't be defragged, which was my experience, but a post on the Microsoft website it can be done.

Any suggestions?

You don't have enough free space to do a proper defrag. Time to get bigger drives and/or start deleting old nonessential files.

Thanks, all old and non-essential files were deleted prior to my post. I was wondering if the amount of free space was a problem.
