user restore?
I recently fixed a problem with my XP log files which required me to re-install
XP on my hard drive. The hard drive is reading the amount of space that was used by my user account from the original XP installation but my user account and data is unaccessible. Is their a way I can restore my user account and data without paying for a system restore program?

when I right click and then go to properties on the c drive it shows the same amount of space full as it had before I re-installed the os, and if I go into documents and settings it shows a folder of my old user account. I had about 50GB of data so there is no way that its just system files. I also downloaded a shareware file/partition recovery program and with a full search it comes up with all of my files.

no I had to create a new user account. When I tried to go into my old user account in documents and settings it says access is denied.

You need to take ownership of the old profile folder, then you can copy what you need out of it into your new profile.
