address book problems
i am having problem with my address book in windows xp. when i went into it today, all my contacts were gone. i had to go into c:/Documents and Settings/myusersername/application data/microsoft/address book to find it, and sure enough it was there. I double clicked it and all my contacts came back. but when i exit adress book and go back in, they're all gone again. i don't know when this started happening but its annoying. can anyone help me with this problem? thanks

Did you create a new identity?
Can probably click on File->Import->Address Book and get em back. |

If you are logging in to XP as a different user, each user has their own address book and mail folders. You have to import them from the other user account.

nope, i don't think i'm doing anything differently than how i normally do. i've been using tweak ui to skip the login the screen for a long time now, and i haven't had this problem since when i found out yesterday. i went to an earlier restore point, and i see that all my contacts are still there and they are all under the folder labeled "main identity's contacts," and this folder is under "contacts." but now, i dont see the folder that says "main identity's contacts" anymore. and i can't import beacuse it is greyed out in the menu.
any other ideas are appreciated |
