Pissed ntuser.dat problems... or something.

WELL! I just recently had my computer taken to the shop, cause windows had a major failure, and they ended up just reformatting it (this was about a month ago) Since then.. it's frozen up totaly only about 3 times. Well, the other night, it froze... I was on MSN and surfing the net. I hit restart, it did it's 'checking C drive for consistancy' thing, did stuff... I logged on to my ac****, but a message came up, saying my user profile is corrupt, or have insufficient rights and stuff. I KNOW it's corrupt. I can find solutions to this problem easy enough, and hundreds of cases like mine as well... BUT the only thing I don't find in common, is that I cannot find any of my files contained in my user account. The same amount of disk space is still taken up.. but the computer can't even find them. I did a virus scan, adware/spyware scan.. nothing. My brothers account works totaly fine.. its just all my stuff is gone

if you have any ideas on this... let me know PLEASE!!!

Can you find them if you log on to the administrator account? Have you run a chkdsk /f or chkdsk /r ?

Send a message via AIM to Panama Red
Don't know if this will help your problem or not. I just had a laptop that would continually run check disk on start up. Did some research and found something in MS Knowledge Base that dealt with chkdsk not working. See if it helps.

I've had good luck with Ontrack Easy Recovery. The trial version will tell you what it can recover if you pay for the full version. You have to perform the recovery to a different drive or partition.
