modem connects but all programs seem to be blocked
hey ive been trying to help a friend with pc problems, he is unsure what caused it but it is: his dial up 56k connects fine but it seems that he is unable to view web pages, and even things like ad aware6 cannot connect to search for updates, running ipconfig no ip address are displayed
he is using p4 2.0, 256ram, win xp home sp2 any help would be greatful |

In the properties of the modem, is it bound to TCP/IP services? Make sure there's a check in the checkbox there.
