XP install on new hard drive questions

I just received my new WD 80GB HD and Windows XP SP2 from newegg.

I've never installed an OS on a new hard drive. I've been looking around for detailed instructions, but keep coming up short...

I am also upgrading my mobo/processor as well. I want to keep my current 40GB as a slave. Will it cause any problems?

As far as installing XP on the new one, after booting up to bios, I need to set my cd as 1st boot and just put in the disk, right? Do I need any kind of A: drive boot disk for cdrom support?

Thanks for your help...I just don't want to mess it up..

Do not install old hard drive til you're finished with the new install.
Set boot priority to CD rom first, insert the XP cd, save and exit bios.
System will boot to the XP cd and proceed with the install. You can paritition the hard drive before you actually begin the installation. Just follow the prompts. When the installation files are set it will reboot. Leave the CD in the drive but let the system boot to the hard drive. No need for boot floppy. Do all the partitioning and formatting with the XP CD.

Yes, but most likely it will be disabled already. Boot virus.
