Win 2000/xp boot screen
I had initially installed win xp on a computer that was attacked by a virus and when i was given the computer to save it, the owner could't find the xp disk and the virus had made the computer unbootable. To make a long story, after I got the hard drive cleared of the virus, so as not to lose the files already on there, I installed Win 2000. Now when the computer boots up, it has that where it ask you to choose what operating system you want. (1) how do i get rid of that and (2) is there anyway to make sure all the xp files are removed?

1. Control panel, system, advanced, startup and recovery, system startup.
2. Not that I know of. Best thing to do now is back up all the needed data files and get a fresh start. If you have this person's XP cd key, you can reinstall XP with any compatible CD, it doesn't have to be his, it just has to be the same type (i.e., xp home OEM.....xp pro upgrade.......etc.). |
