XPSP2 setup cannot find the eula!!!! please kill me....
I need to install windows xp SP2 from a hard drive partition. Here is how I currently have it set up.
C:\ -> Location to install windows xpSP2(fat32) 20gb D:\ -> Location to install windows xpSP2 from (fat32) 20 gb I boot up using a windows 98 boot disk, change to drive D:\i386 and run winnt Setup copies files to drive C: ($WIN_NT$.~BT, $WIN_NT.~LS....) I reboot and setup continues until the screen where it says: "Setup cannot find the End-User License Agreement (EULA). Setup will not continue" Side note: In txtsetup.sif SetupSourcePath="\" I have read a lot about this problem and can't figure it out. Hopefully its something easy that I missed somewhere. My Xp is PRo with SP1 Thanks

I don't understand the WIN98 thing. SP2 is self installing. Click on the icon and select start.

The http://support.microsoft.com/defaul...3&Product=winxp idea is to completly format my drive which I need to avoid since I have tons of complicated software installed and configured. It could take days to reinstall.
I cannot install SP2 from WIndows because it gave me an error which was "program too large for memory" I reseached the error and what happens is you cannot install the new SP2 patch if your machine have installed the previous SP2 beta patch. Once I tried to uninstalled it fail to do that. I tried then followed the instruction from MS article 875350 in which tells you to remove the SP2 beta from the system restore process and making changes in the registry.... I followed but it did not removed it! So what I did is I expanded the SP2 executable and I copied the i386 into my c drive, restarded in dos and run it.... It was going golden until the EULA error!!!! |

Try converting the drive from FAT32 to NTFS and then attempt the installation again. If solved the problem on one of my machines.
