wmv files won't play
when I try to play movies in .wmv format, Windows Media Player 10 locks up and gives me an error message:
SIGNATURE ERROR AppName: wmplayer.exe AppVer: 10.0.0.3646 ModName: unknown ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: e8505100 then it shuts down the program. Realplayer also locks up. That's why I believe it's something in the OS. I have tried .wmv files from multiple sources and get the same result. The programs play all other formats with no problem (mpg, avi, dat, etc.....). I've reinstalled Windows Media Player and RealPlayer. My OS is Windows XP HOME Ed. w/ SP2. |

Try vlc aka VideoLAN.
Is it just one wmv file, or does the same thing happen on different ones?
