Windows ME Start-up

I am using Windows ME. What programs are required to run on start-up. I know how to turn them on and off, I just don't know what is necessary. Is there a website that tells me what each program does? I know what I've loaded. I need to know about the computer programs.
Thanx

For a complete background of system resources and startup/background processes for the Windows 95/98/Me systems, plus links to a startup list where you can find descriptions of what you see in your TaskList or in msconfig, you can visit http://www.pacs-portal.co.uk -head over to the "Startup Tips" section. This is a highly recommended site - it's well-known. The startup/background process list is constantly updated with the help of some other sites as well. Another helpful list can be found at http://www.answersthatwork.com

. . . and of course you can always come back here with questions!
