CD Player in Win 2000
At my work I have Win 2000 installed on my PC. The only player to play music it came with, was the strange car stereo looking player. I had Windows Media player installed. But when I try to play music it says that another application is using sound card and won't play any sound. Looks like the "car stereo" took over the sound card and wont let go. How do I get the PC to run Windows Media player. Thank you. Maksym

Hi Max:
That sounds like WinAmp, but whatever player it is you should just be able to go into task manager and shut it down so you can then use the other player that you want to use.. KTK

Hi Max,
I did have a similar problem relating to my sound blaster live but thankfully i got it sorted, things to check are as KTK replied - the first thing to check is anything else running on the system, there are a few programs that take full use of the soundcard. secondly i would also check against the manufacturer to see if there is an updated driver, there was a known issue with my sound card that the latest driver fixed. hope that helps somewhat Quote:
