Run time errors at start up HELP!!!!!
Hi there,
I'm having some problems with an old Dell computer. We have windows 98. When we turn the computer on, we are getting run time errors. These errors show up and we can not run any programs. Any ideas what they could be? I'll have to get exactly what the message box says...but if anyone could give me some help that would be great. thanks |

I have seen error messages pop up if you have removed hardware devices without first uninstalling them from the control panel. Also make sure your startup programs do not depend on hardware which is not plugged in (i.e. USB wireless mouse controller software starts up without the wireless mouse plugged in).
This is strictly a guess, error messages would be the most help. |

ok, all that happens when we try to start the computer is that we get a Run Time Error, that's all , no numbers or codes attached to it. And we can't run any programs. Everything is attached (USB etc) and no programs were uninstalled incorrectly.
computers are so frustrating! I know there must be some computer wizards out there that can help......
