PCI System Mgmt Bus

I just finished replacing a defunct HDD in a Dell Dimension 4100 that had the original Win ME on it. This pc was given to me without the restore or drivers Disk.
I installed a good 4.1gig HDD, formatted it and installed Win98SE.
After installing the Intel 815E drivers for the mobo, the only problem is that it is still missing the PCI System Mgmt Bus.
I believe this is keeping me from being able to put the Volume Control in the sys tray. I have sound OK, but can't control the volume from the speaker icon as there is none. When I go to Multimedia in the Control Panel, it says to go to Add/Remove programs and install Volume Control. Oh yeah? How?
TIA

Carl

Here is a list of downloads for the dimension 4100 from dell for windows 98. There are several drivers listed depending on what your system is running. http://www.computing.net/security/ww...rum/13688.html.

You can also look inside the computer to get the numbers off the Mobo to see what mobo you have and try the Mobo manufacturers site for additional drivers.

Karnevil9,

Thanks for the link, but I couldn't find what I was looking for.
This is an Intel Easton mobo. I've gone to the Intel site, the Dell site, and Drivers Guide.com. I must be overlooking something and it is prolly very simple.

Thanks again,
Carl
