Whats it do in Safe Mode?
Boot into safe mode and check the settings for that login name. You may even want to create a new login name to see if it still does it.

I'm curious, too, to see what happens in Safe Mode.
Also . . . is it just logging you out, or is the computer completely restarting, and leaving you again at the login screen? [in which case you might check in your Bios to see if the settings look OK (settings can get thrown off by power surges - we had a doozy here last weekend), look at the temps while in there too, and check the voltages]. . . . and, again thinking along with fudtone on this - if there are others set up as users on the machine: does the same problem happen for them? . . .
