Task Manager and Internet Use
well that's what I hope they are called in English (my system is in Spanish).
Anyway, can anyone tell me why when I ctrl-alt-click and look at the 4th screen for internet performance I have 2 items listed as follows: Local area 2 connection (262kbps | operative) Kit ADSL USB(262kbps | connected) both of which can (and usually do) go at very different rates. I know what the second is cos I just installed it (it's the adsl usb modem) but I don't know why the other is there. The pc does have an ethernet 10/100 card if that helps, which I used to use when I had a different supplier. Thanks, Craig. |

should I be using 2? or should I get rid of one. Basically I want to know if my pc should only be using 1 and if so why are the 2 devices both registering activity? Could I deactivate the ethernet and just have the usb I am using now? I've been having a lot of probs with my Internet connecton just cutting out and then not being able to reconect until I reboot. Could this be related?

Does the adsl usb modem have a standard cat5 connection that you can plug into the network card? If so, I'd try that.
