drive opening problem

when i double click my c:\ drive it doesnt open, it goes into the search thing.
i have to right-klikk>open to view the files inside.

how do i fix this?

fixed it myself with a registry edit.

What was the fix? id justl ike to see it for future ref.

my friend had a problem something like that. but when he right clicked the Main selection was Search and not Open. notice how when you right click on a file open is at the top and bold? well his was search. and he couldn't open his C Drive either. Verry odd.....

1. Start Registry Editor (Regedt32.exe).

2. Locate and then click the Default value under the following keys in the registry if this problem occurs with folders:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell

If this problem occurs with drives:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Drive\shell

3. Click Modify on the Edit menu.

4. Type "none" in the Value data box, and then click OK.

5. Quit Registry Editor.
