The only other way I am aware of is by using registry cleaning software, I have RegscrubXP loaded and if you choose the user determines problems option, it will list the entire reg in plain english.
Hope this helps, it is a free download as well.

You can always create a short cut for it.

Are you asking for a different keycombo? Like: WinKey + R is the short way to bring up the Run box. Or are you asking about different Registry editors, like the one build into Norton System Works, or free versions found at places like PCWorld.com?

i was actually wondering how to open the registry other than using the run box. Is there a way to get there through my computer or control pannel, or something? If the run box is the only way, what are some good free registry editors? thanks a lot.

You could always make a shortcut to "C:\Windows\regedit.exe", then you can put that shortcut where you want (desktop, start menu, quick start...)

Not that I'm aware of. Looking in the Help system, they give only one way to run it:

Quote:
To start Regedit.exe
1) Click Start, and then click Run.
2) Type Regedit, and then click OK.
