XP won't load your profile!
I'm working on a friend's computer which is running XP Pro. She has 4 user profiles set up. One for her and the other 3 for family members. The problem is when you click on one it'll try to load the profile but then immediately log off!!! It does the same thing on the other 3 profiles also. It's like an endless loop!!! I don't know what to do short of re-formatting. Any ideas?

Could it be that the version of XP Pro isn't paid for?
And IF that is maybe they updated it? Ala SP 1 or 2? ANd IF thats the case the computer will ONLY reboot like that man ![]() reboot i think is the only way around that.... |

It's worth an attempted repair over a reboot at least. Pop the XP CD into your drive and instruct your BIOS to boot from it. Then select "r" and see if XP can repair the problem itself.
Do you have any valuable data that you need backed up in the event that a reboot is the only way left? |

have you tried selecting F8 on boot up just proir to winxp loading, this should give you a boot menu and you can choose Last Known good configuration. This is the setting for the last time the PC booted correctly into winxp.
