Exclamation

I just upgraded Win 98SE to Windows ME (against my better judgement and on the advice of two IT pros) and am seeing some weird stuff.

First, I keep getting an error message that says:

"Explorer has caused an error in unknown. Explorer will now close. If you continue to experience problems, try restarting your computer."

But explorer doesn't close. And the message keeps returning several times a day.

I was also getting the error message:

"Spool 32 has caused an error in unknown. If you continue to experience problems, try restarting your computer."

I found a possible fix for this on the Microsoft Knowledge Base which has worked so far for a day or so.

I've also had problems with the system freezing up when I try to open the printers folder from "START-SETTINGS-PRINTERS" in the Start Menu. This does not occur if I open the printers folder within Control Panel itself.

My system is a 600mhz Pentium-3, with 256meg of RAM.

I would appreciate any help anyone can offer as I've exhausted all resources trying to figure this deal out.

Thank you.

If you really want to run ME, reformat and install it from scratch on a clean drive.
