Hello!
I recently reloaded XP-Home & reloaded all onhand software with no conflicts in device manager - yippi But Windows Media Player won't play may store purchased DVD's. I think I may need a DVD decoder? What's Good & Free? I would like to continue to view movies through "Windows Media Player" other than generic players. Thanks! |

Yep, you need a DVD decoder. There aren't free ones, coz MPEG-2 is not free. But PowerDVD, WinDVD or something similar should be bundled with your DVD-ROM drive, DVD burner, graphics card, mainboard, and maybe sound card. Just install it, and Media Player will then be able to playback DVDs, too.
