Trouble With XP
OK. I have a pc that was recently formatted and to help trouble shoot user error, we use VNC to let us see what the user is doing. Last week i could vnc fine into a machine, the machince authenticates to the network can be seen by everyone, but cannot be accessed via VNC, remote desktop, dameware, or any other utility to see what they are doing. Tried uninstalling SP2 and still had the problem, also tried reinstalling mcafee virus scan, still nothing. also tried renewing the ip address and still nothing. settings were correct and now they don't work at all. anyone please help me with this i would appreciate it. thanx

Check the adapter and see if the firewall is enabled for that particular adapter. Even though SP2 has been uninstalled, the setting for the FW to remain active may still be in place. You may also have to reinstall VNC
