System takes forever after quitting game

I've been playing GTA3 lately, and Ive noticed that after I quit the game, it takes a LONG time for windows to load back again. When I quit, its just a black screen, and pieces of the taskbar begin to show themselves again. during this period, the HDD activity light is always on. I defragged my HDD's earlier today, but still no help. Ive got very few services on (followed Black Viper's services tweak guide awhile ago), and when the system is at idle, I've got ~33 processes on (after shutting down F@H, and some other systray proggy's). So what could be causing this slow down? Its never done this before.

TIA,
CN

Check for spyware using adaware and spybot, if you haven't done so already. Make sure the definitions are up to date.

Well, Spybot detected alot of BackWeb lite entries, but the problem im having is that I installed the Logitech MX Duo mouse and keyboard, which the software includes some client program called BackWeb. Would spybot mistake this logitech app as spyware, or are these BackWeb entries actually spyware?

TIA,
CN

BackWeb is an autoupdate program, and is widely classified as spyware, at the very least I call it crapware. i never load the Logitech software anymore because of it. The only advantage I have ever seen to loading it is the battery level warning.

Alright, thx for that tip. That battery warning is rather pointless for me since the mouse itself has an LED indicating a low battery level. So Ive cleaned out all that spyware. I'll probably play GTA3 tomorrow, so ill see how that works out then.

TIA,
CN

Yeah, Ive already done the Defrag, but ill probably do a scandisk tomorrow. Ive been pretty busy (it was my graduation today), so I havent had much a chance to test out GTA.
