XP question
I just purchased a new computer and after going through all the start up stuff I sign on the Internet. I was able to go to my start page, I am using cable internet and I use excite as my home page. I am using XP home. The problem is after I get to my start page I can`t go anywhere else. If I type in a web page to go to it just goes to about half ways then just seem to stay there. Any help would be appreciated.

Does this happen only when leaving the Excite homepage? Have you tried disabling your start page and then trying to get to a site?

Can you check email? It sounds as though you aren't connected, and are looking at the Excite page that's in the cache.
